The Collapse

I love you, as sad as that is.
I love you, as pathetic and demented as I sound.
I love you, despite how hateful you have been towards me.

I still crave to kiss your lips and hear your heart beat against mine.
I would do anything to be yours.
It is all that I want.
It is all that I ask for.
Please, don’t let this be goodbye.
Please, let my heart enclose yours in this gentle rain.

Let all that is your worries and woes become mine as well.
I want to feel you in every way I can.
I want to know you in every way imaginable.
Please stop being the Boogeyman.
Out to curse and foil my dreams.
Be the ladder that gives me those first steps I need to reach salvation.

Open your door and let me in.
How can you not see me?
I am visible to all but you.
How can you not feel me?
When my intentions are so close to your heart.
How can you not care for me, as I care for you?

Drown me in these waves of my disappointment and loss.
Submerge me from the heartbreak and loss that is my own.
Let me be yours and do not shun my desires for a moment longer.
You poison my veins with neglect.
When you course through my bloodstream, it will stop the beat of my heart all together.

You toss me out into the cold and leave me for dead.
As I feel my pulse start to slow.
Is it the cold that chills my bones to the core? Or is it coming from you?

My only hope is to follow the steps I have made before.
These steps are the ones that will lead me into the sunlight.
The rays of a new beginning beaming down upon me.

I can only hope this is not the end of our journey.
I hope you can explore all the heavens and hells with me by your side.
Release me from this cold stern grip you have over me.
Allow me to walk and breathe without that pain any longer.

I am suffocating.
I am hyperventilating.
I am my own worst enemy and yet I cannot breathe without you.
Is there nothing you can say?
Put me out of my misery.
Make it so that I am blessed to walk this pathway with you,
Or get the fuck out of my head.
Remember that you are the one who has lost me and not the other way around.
